Top This! Cafe at the Atrium

Top This! is a small cafe inside a corporate building across from Rex Hospital complex. It’s a bit hard to find, but once you’re there you have plenty of parking in the neighboring parking garage, and you can enter through a little doorway with a green awning.
I brought the lunch-time crew over and tried the Beef on Weck. House-roasted roast beef piled atop a very fresh Kimmelweck roll, with horseradish mayo and Gruyere swiss cheese. While not as big as I initially expected, the sandwich wowed me. It was very tender, the perfect degree of done-ness but not too red. The roll was toasted but soft. I really enjoyed the sandwich, which was reasonably priced at $5.65. I managed to drip yummy beef juice all over, so I recommend getting yourself extra napkins.
A buddy got the Chef Salad, which was tasty, although with his appetite, I think it may be nice if they offer an option of extra roast beef on top for a few extra bucks.
Another tempting idea is to order a build-your-own sandwich. They have lots of options of rolls (including a pretzel roll!) and many toppings to personalize the sandwich to your liking.
While the decor inside is strictly early-90’s office building, the food is worth a shot, whether you try it for takeout, dine in or catering. They also offer breakfast. Hours are 7:30am – 2:30pm Monday – Friday. They have another location in Chapel Hill.
