Kadhai The Indian Wok
4 out of 5 stars
UPDATE: I’ve been back, 3/22/13 and had the lunch buffet during the week, and it was just as good as I remembered. They still carry three chicken dishes in the buffet, on this occasion including tikka masala and vindaloo and chicken korma. Also saag paneer, a chickpea dish, cauliflower dish, veggie noodles and more. All for $10. The regular ordering menu also has goat and lamb available – pricier but it seems worth a try if you have a hankering to try goat!
Kadhai, which is hidden in the back of a Ross and Marshall’s shopping center off Glenwood, has a good quality buffet at a reasonable price. Affordable Indian food is hard to come by in Raleigh, so it’s nice to find one so close to our house. We stopped in on Saturday afternoon to check out the food. The entrees here are normally pretty expensive, in the $15 range. However the buffet was $11 when we visited Saturday at lunchtime.
The buffet has a good number of items, including fluffy rice and fresh naan. There were three chicken dishes- butter chicken and two types of chicken curry. They also had lots of veggie options, of course, including a chickpea dish, a lentil dish, peas and mushrooms in sauce, sauteed cabbage, and some other items. Another small area had two types of vegetable fritters and samosas, and the cold bar had a selection of sauces and relishes plus fresh cut fruit and rice pudding. I gorged myself and felt quite full!

I really liked this place the couple of times Tony and I went there for dinner, I’ll have to try the Lunch buffet. It’s nice to have an Indian place close to us, especially when I get a hankering for some samosas.
Yes, chicken was the only meat dishes offered that day on the buffet but they had a lentil dish, a chickpea dish and a pea and mushroom dish, plus plenty of other vegetable options like a cabbage curry dish. Plus of course you can order anything you want from the menu and it is large. Thanks for stopping by!
Hey do they offer other entrees besides chicken?
