Buffalo’s Southwest Cafe

Updated Review: 8/2/2010

3 out of 5 stars for breakfast

The new breakfast menu at Buffalo’s is small but I did manage to find a yummy-sounding treat, the blueberry and cream cheese-stuffed Texas toast french toast, which came with 4 pieces of crisp bacon (or sausage) and choice of starch.  I chose home fries, of course.  I never have been a grits girl.  All were tasty, and the presentation was even nice.

Hubs had a fairly standard omelette which came with a substantial side of fresh fruit and toast.  It was nice to dine al fresco, even if our view consisted of a parking lot and a bank construction site.  It’s walking distance from our house which means we’ll be back!  Service was quick and polite.

2 out of 5 stars

I like the atmosphere of Buffalo’s, it’s a super casual place with wooden walls and floors, a real cowboy type place. Both times I’ve been I had high hopes for the food because of the nice pictures in the menu but I was not impressed either time. We didn’t like the wings much, which seem to be the specialty, they are the really small wings and nothing special. The second time I ordered chicken tenders, which were ok. Glen ordered a wrap, which he didn’t like.

I think this would be an ok place to have a casual meal as long as you order something relatively standard, or to have a beer in the smoky bar (if you’re into smoky bars). Or perhaps to bring out of town guests to scare them.
