Benelux Cafe

4 out of 5 stars

Whether you are just visiting Moore Square to hit some museums or want a break in one of Raleigh’s historic areas, it’s worth stopping by City Market. Benelux Cafe is in the middle of it, not far from Big Ed’s. (my review here)
Exterior Picture

City Market has been around since 1914, as the original farmer’s market to the city. It has lovely cobblestone streets, some free parking around back, and an assortment of restaurants, shopping and bars.

I could go for any of Benelux’s breakfast options: Belgian waffels (err.. wafels), homemade granola and yogurt, pastries, or quiche. But given these choices I will inevitably choose the waffle. I got a simple but hearty waffle with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. A delightful break in the day.
