Solomon’s Restaurant

5 out of 5 stars

I had heard wonderful things about Solomon’s and was definitely impressed. I don’t normally get very excited at the thought of Mediterranean food, but I think it was just my lack of experience. The ambiance of this location is really cool, with murals on the wall, a really cool fake tree in the middle of the dining room, and a few stuffed goats in the waiting area. It sounds cheesy and horrible the way I describe it, but it’s neat. When I say stuffed goats I mean stuffed animals but life size not goats that were previously alive and then stuffed!

We came with another couple and started off with a sampler of appetizers. Here they let you pick which appetizers you’d like to have included so we ordered grape leaves, spinach pie and tabbouleh. All were amazing. The restaurant has a bakery, it seems – the pitas were melt in your mouth fresh. Tabbouleh was really lemony and I liked it though I haven’t ever liked tabbouleh before. And the spinach pie was a pita grilled with spinach and feta on top. I didn’t try a grape leaf but the guys said they were served warm, which they hadn’t had before but loved them that way.

For our entrees, they guys had salads and the gals had the kefta kebab plate. Servings were enough for two meals, with four ground beef kebabs served on top of lentil pilaf which was creamy and tasty, as well as a cucumber tomato relish with lots of fresh herbs and a light dressing on top. Everyone was stuffed and we all took our leftovers to go. We can’t wait to go back.
