NOTE: Revolution no longer serves lunch but I still recommend it as a fantastic dinner option, if it’s in your price range.

I’ve been to Revolution for lunch at least three times now, so I feel comfortable saying that I can count on their food to be consistently excellent. Not to be confused with the closely-located Cuban Revolution, this is the Revolution along Main Street in Durham. The decor of this modern eatery makes you feel transported to a hip hotel bar in Manhattan. Well if that hip hotel bar were in a subway. Ok so I’m stretching, but that tiled mosaic is so interesting! What I’m trying to get at is this would be a great place to bring someone you wish to impress.

Each week Revolution emails out a new list of about 6 lunch specials, so the menu changes constantly. They also sometimes offer some surprises as well. I’ve tried a spaghettini and mussel dish, duck and arugula pizza, southern fried chicken and gravy, and tempura chicken. All have been lip-smackingly fresh and the service is always on point. I have not been here for dinner, but it’s rarely very busy for lunch.
