Pad Thai

Most of the folks who I work with are familiar with Thai Cafe but not Pad Thai, which is in North Durham on Guess Road. In a humble building near the intersection of Guess and 501, Pad Thai is cozy inside with colorful tablecloths and comfy booths, or standard tables.

Our server asked us right when we walked in if we were vegetarian, so that she could ask the chef to prepare the soup that comes with lunch in a vegetarian broth. We were also able to get our “fresh rolls” without chicken.

We really had no need to order the rolls, because the lunch dishes came with more than enough food plus soup for only $7.95. I ordered the shrimp pad thai. It wasn’t too sweet as pad thai sometimes tends to be. It had a nice bright flavor with just a little bit of spice as I asked.

My friend got a vegetable tofu cashew stir fry and was very happy with her entree.
