Kamado Grille – North Raleigh, NC
Kamado Grille, Fresh American Food, Expertly Grilled
A new dining experience has hit North Raleigh and although had the pleasure at least five or six times now, I am just finally getting to tell my dear readers about it. Kamado Grille is a brand new concept where all the food is prepared on their namesake ceramic grills. Even dessert! They’ve mastered the grilling, especially when it comes to slowly-smoked meats, but most everything on the menu is a good choice. The atmosphere is light and airy with a very outdoor patio-type feel to the seating area.
While I’ve really enjoyed many dishes I’ve had at Kamado, including the inventive craft cocktails, I would have to say that my favorite by far is the reuben. The house-smoked corned beef is truly out of this world. It comes on thick rye bread, with slaw and gruyere cheese. And the sandwich is about two meals’ worth. The salads are also really amazing, and many people rave over the Pork Bomb. I’m told the lobster rolls are also plentiful (you get two).
What’s sort of interesting here is that you can order your meal on an iPad, request your server, and even split the check and pay on the iPad. It really comes in useful when you are sitting at the bar and want to order more things every so often rather than all at once. It’s also nice to be able to review pictures of the items you are considering, and to customize your order to your liking.
I’ve been back again and again because both the food and service are top notch. So give it a shot yourself! But everyone else has the same idea, so prepare for a wait if you arrive at dinner time and don’t call ahead or request priority seating online.
