Here are a collection of mostly food-related and festival events coming up in the Triangle. Almost all of them look to be family-friendly.
Saturday, May 30th: Blues and Brews Festival, Durham supporting local Durham charities
Sunday, May 31st: Five Points Neighborhood Food Truck Rodeo at Westminster Presbyterian Church
Sunday, May 31st: Day Party celebrating the first day of summer at Babylon in Raleigh, 2-5pm
Now through mid-June: Strawberry Picking! Check out Carolina Parent’s article for some local farms to go picking at or the directory at Pickyourown.com. Also you can go to the Mezza Luna Lavender Farm through June 15th and try lavender ice cream and buy sachets of lavender.
June 4th: Raleigh’s Greenway Celebration at Anderson Park, with Food Trucks and music. Free.
Friday, June 5th: First Friday Art Walk, Downtown Raleigh
Saturday, June 6th:Â 11th Annual Beaver Queen Pageant on Saturday in Durham, NC. Family-friendly charity and community event as covered by Triangle Explorer.
Saturday, June 6th: Celebrate National Trails Day at Triangle Volksmarch, a celebration of our walking trails
June 8-14th: Triangle Restaurant Week
June 19-20th: Peak City Pig Fest in Apex, NC, Free admission
June 20th: Blueberry Music Festival at Vollmer Farm in Bunn, NC. Live bluegrass and blues, food trucks, cooking contests and demonstrations and a blueberry pie-eating contest. Plus the Back 40 playground for the kids. $9 advance, $12 day-of.
June 20th: NC Museum of Art Outdoor Movie, “Chef” and Food Truck Rodeo
June 20th: 3rd Annual Fresh Catch Festival in Moore Square, Raleigh supporting North Carolina fishermen and Learn Together no-profit
June 25-27th: Snap Pea Underground Dinner in Durham, NC. Tickets go on sale 6/2 at Noon
July 2-4th: Pig Pickin’ Bluegrass & BBQ Festival in Louisburg, NC (30 mins outside of Raleigh)
July 18th: Pork Out BBQ Competition at Lafayette Village in Raleigh, NC
July 31-Aug 1st: Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival at Booth Amphitheater in Cary, NC
