Blu Seafood

5 out of 5 stars

Blu Seafood, right by Vin Rouge on Durham’s Ninth Street, really doesn’t look like much on the outside. But I had heard wonders about their food, so I wanted to take some of my gals over for lunch to give it a shot. I’m so glad that we did, it was the perfect spot for a sunny lunchtime break. The exterior is modest, but the inside is crisp and white and reminds one instantly of the “shore”. The sunny patio is nice, but you can still sit indoors and feel like you are outside in the sunny adjoining room.

The menu for lunch is relatively short but well-chosen. Our pescetarian guest had no trouble picking an entree, and our gluten-free guest also chose the delightful shrimp and grits. The photos of the food here will speak for themselves. The fish was screamingly fresh, the flavors expertly crafted. My caesar salad was I think the best I’ve ever had, scattered with a generous helping of lump crab. It made for a perfect lunch. I can imagine that the twinkling lights on the patio here make this for an amazing date location.
